Okay, so went to a convention, moved, and turned 20 all in the same weekend. Also had to prepare for all this. You absolutely must excuse my lack of posting - and keep excusing it...until I'm done unpacking...

Dreamy (and Notes)
Cool $10 Cloud Lamp! - video powered by Metacafe
I am so making one of these for my new apartment....
In other news -
- Inspired by Amy, I'm going to start washing my hair with baking soda and rinsing with apple cider vinegar instead of using shampoo and conditioner. The next thing to go will probably be toothpaste.
- I am seriously thinking about feng shui-ing the new apartment
- Speaking of which - only 2 1/2 more weeks until the big move! Excitement is building...and so is the amount of crap in my car.
- Spring Cleaning! Most people have already gotten theirs done, but I see the move as the ultimate opportunity to declutter and purge.
- Sticking to a budget is tough! I'm already up for the week; but it was totally worth it, since it went towards this.

Water, Water Everywhere
Spring has sprung, and that means it's raining about 3 days out of the week. But when it's not, I usually manage to get outside and take some pictures.

This sign is in front of the school I was doing my observation at.

This house always catches my eye when I drive past it.
And now, birdies

Yeah, this little guy got pretty mad at me.
I have been incredibly busy with projects and commissions; I will also be having photo shoots for all of my costumes soon. Prepare to be flooded with pictures.

Tengen Toppa Plushen Lagaan

If you're familiar with the anime Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan, then you may recognize this.

Awesome Logo + Pink + Plush = Awesome!
In other news, I've finished my Brown Owls name badge, as well as labeling and craftily decorating my map of Australia for the Travel badge.

I also baked cupcakes with my friend Liz for her birthday. She loved the ones I made last year so much she requested it again - it's from this book. My dad gave it to me and every recipe I've made from it is frickin' amazing.

Lastly, I made this fritata with some asparagus I had lying around a couple of nights ago. For those of you not familiar with the concept, a fritata is basically a quiche without a crust. Super easy, and I love taking my cast iron pan from stovetop to oven.

Dumplings, Dumplings everywhere
In making an effort to eat out less, I've been cooking at home more - this may seem obvious, but hey, I could just eat microwave potpies every night...like I was.
I went a little crazy with it last night. I made delicious pork dumplings and broccoli for dinner last night, and later, I made a desert of Brown Sugar Dumplings with Blueberry Sauce. I got the idea from Paula Deen, but I didn't really follow a recipe.

Some of the dumpling dough. Unfortunately, that's the only shot that came out halfway decent, but the resulting dessert was much better than my photography skills.

Super Late Spring Break
Alright, here's the photos from break, as promised.

On the way to St. Louis, we visited the World's Largest Frying Pan.

Bleak, artsy pictures of cows in front of a cemetery. How very.

While shopping, I discovered for the first time the store anthropologie. Very inspiring design indeed.

They also had these very folksy, down-to-earth mobile/chandeleir hybrids. I'm just dying to make one myself now.

I also got on a health kick while on the trip (always a good thing), and ended up making this dinner (and these bracelets) while at home.
Since getting back, I've (sort of) caught up on school work, as well as gotten cranking on quite a few costume projects - updates on that soon.
